WATCH: Tossed ashtray debris the cause of dumpster fire in Beachwood
Beachwood fire crews know what caused a dumpster fire but who tossed the remains of their ashtray into it remains unknown.
Neighbors were reportedly trying to put out the blaze with a garden hose at Sawyer's Liquour on Atlantic City Boulevard until the Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department arrived around 2:45 pm on Sunday April 8.
The dumpster fire behind the store was quickly put out and was contained to the dumpster.
BVFD says a customer cleaned the ashtray of their car out into the dumpster before the fire broke out.
It's unclear if any charges await whoever tossed the debris into the trash or if police are in need of additional information.
