If, like me, you've been up to the Count Basie Theatre in the last few months, you've probably seen the ongoing work at the Red Bank arts center. This week, some of the construction workers got a surprise celebrity server on their lunch break.

The Basie is in the midst of a multi-million dollar expansion project that will bear a name familiar to Ocean County residents, The Jay And Linda Grunin Arts and Education Building will soon occupy the space around the historic theater.

Before that happens, though, there's a lot of work to be done. That's where our story comes in.

Just yesterday, the Basie secretly got in touch with local celebrity comedian Jon Stewart and arranged for him to serve up lunch to the hungry crew.

The building that will have the Grunin name is starting to take shape. You can check in with the Basie's website to stay updated!
