Picture this - you pay to go on a paranormal investigation at a historic inn lead by a local psychic. As the psychic asks any spirits to make a noise, a knocking is heard from the attic.

Chances are, you'll either run, freaked out, or tell all your friends and family who will then go on future investigations and help the tour guide make a handsome profit.

The only problem - according to these tour participants, it was all a setup.

They say that British psychic Chris Date had an accomplice who was hiding in the attic, playing the role of paranormal prankster.

For his part, the mystery man says that he was simply a local homeless fellow who was looking for a comfortable place to relax for a bit.

Homeless stranger or pseudo-paranormal knocker, there was definitely something sketchy going on, whether it was of a ghostly nature or not is debatable.
