Kalee Warnick, 24, is charged with a first-degree count of aggravated sexual assault and second-degree counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to information from the office of acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Grammiccioni.

Warnick was 22, and the boy a 15-year-old freshman in her Wall Township High School English class when the relationship started in January 2013, investigators said. Trysts took place at various spots around the county, culminating in sexual penetration at her home in Wall in July the same year, investigators said.

A conviction by a jury on the first-degree charge would place Warnick at risk of a 10-to-20-year sentence, with a requirement to serve at least 85 percent of it under New Jersey's No Early Release Act (NERA). The second-degree counts carry five-to-10-year terms each on conviction.

Warnick would also be required to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law and undergo parole supervision for life (PSL). Under NERA, a parole violation in the first five years would send her back to a state prison to serve the remainder of the five years before re-release.
