Wall Police Officers bring baby ducklings to safety
Two Wall Township Police Officers came to the rescue of some ducks in peril in the Tuesday rain.
On Tuesday morning around 9:00 a.m. Patrolman Kevin Orender and Patrolman Steve Swenson responded to the area of State Highway 35 and Belmar Boulevard for a report of baby ducklings in the roadway and causing a traffic hazard.
When they arrived Officers Orender and Swenson located a gaggle of baby ducklings who were without the drake (male duck) and female Mallard.
The officers, with the assistance of a few concerned citizens, were able to safely gather the baby ducklings and carry from the roadway and reunite them with mature ducks nearby.
Thanks to the Wall Police Officers and residents in the area, the ducks were brought to safety and reunited once more.
