Class A South

No. 7 Jackson Memorial 52, Toms River South 46

Junior Charlie Meglio scored a game-high 18 points and the Jaguars (14-5, 9-3) held off a challenge from the Indians (4-14, 1-10) to finish their Class A South slate with a chance to win a share of the Class A South championship.

Senior Steve Bado added 15 points for Jackson Memorial, which needs a Southern win at Brick Memorial Thursday in order to claim a share of the division championship with Brick Memorial, which can win it outright with a win Thursday night.

Senior Gavin Migliori led Toms River South with 17 points, while sophomore Jordan Jones added 10 and senior Bobby Kukfa chipped in six points, 11 rebounds and four steals in the loss.

 

Class C North

No. 5 Manasquan 52, Jackson Liberty 33

Senior Matt Solomon scored 11 points to go with 13 rebounds, four steals and two blocks as the Warriors (15-4, 11-0) beat the Lions (12-7, 5-6) to claim the outright Class C North division title.

With another division championship, Manasquan has now won at least a share of a division title in nine consecutive seasons.

Sophomore Alex Konov also scored 11 points and classmate Ryan Frauenheim pitched in 10 points and four assists. Manasquan's two freshman starters also made a contribution, with Griffin Linstra putting up six points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Darius Adams went for six points and six rebounds.

Senior Phanique Dupree led Jackson Liberty with 12 points and classmate Dahkareo Pritchett added eight in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

South River 65, Asbury Park 55

Junior Sha'Born Goodman scored 17 points but the Blue Bishops (4-10) could not overcome a big first half from the Rams (14-4) in a loss.

Senior Taijier Burns added 10 points for Asbury Park, which cut a 19-point halftime deficit to nine by the end of the third quarter.

Jeremy Grospe led South River with a game-high 25 points.

Absegami 48, Barnegat 46

Junior Joe Bivens scored 14 points and freshman Mason Krey added nine but the Bengals (4-16) fell to the Braves (8-11) in a nail-biter.
