Top 5 Tick Preventative Measures in Ocean County
Yuck! I hate ticks. I'm one of those annoying people that searches dogs, people, everything I can for a tick. Dare I say, I'm anal when it comes to searching for them, they scare me, and I can usually spot one.
The Ocean County Parks and Recreation Department recently put out a list of preventative measures against ticks:
- 1
Try to avoid wooded and brush areas with high grass.
- 2
Use a repellent with at least 20 percent or more of DEET.
- 3
Conduct a full-body check on yourself, your kids, and especially your dogs.
- 4
Shower or bathe as soon as possible after coming in from outside.
- 5
CHECK AGAIN!
