Give Your Car A Good Once Over

If you normally use your vehicle for running errands locally, it's a good time to bring it in, get the oil changed, check your fluids, brakes, and make sure everything is in tip-top condition for your possible new commute.

    Prepare Some Entertainment

Obviously, one of the great things about riding the rails is that you can read and relax. If you're driving, though, reading is generally frowned upon. One of my favorite things to do on my commute - listen to audiobooks! There are some great audiobooks out there, everything from Game of Thrones, to Steve Jobs, and much more! if you can't read, why not listen?

    Relax

If this does happen, nobody is going to be happy about it. It's going to be stressful for everyone - NJ Transit employees and commuters alike. Now may be a good time to take up yoga.

    Look On The Bright Side

Hey, it's not an ideal situation. But, if it does indeed come to pass, there's not much any of us are going to be able to do about it. So might as well look on the bright side, right? Gas prices are low right now. You'll be able to come and go on your own schedule, not the train schedule. And you won't have to worry about strangers sitting next to you. If the State gives us lemons, might as well make lemonade, right?
