Toms River’s Upcoming Jersey Mike’s Has A Celebrity Owner

This is one of the reasons that I love social media. Yesterday, we told you about the under-construction Jersey Mike's location that will be coming to Toms River's 1 Route 37 West plaza in the new year.

Well, my thanks to our Facebook fan Kathy from Toms River, who pointed out that this could be the Jersey Mike's that national soccer star and Ocean County native Christie Rampone would be opening.

It turns out, Kathy, that you're absolutely correct!

A few weeks ago, Rampone and her husband announced that they would be opening two Jersey Mike's locations in Ocean County next year. One is the one that we talked about yesterday, right off the Parkway on Route 37. The other will be at the Commons at Hooper Shopping Center on Hooper Avenue.

When discussing the franchise plan, she told APP.com:

Playing for so many years and winning so many medals and World Cups, it just felt like I was complete when I got the Jersey Mike’s sponsorship and now being able to open some stores puts it to another level.”

Both are expected to open in the new year.
