I am a technology nut. I admit I have a major problem. If it has a hard drive and a screen, give it to me - I don't care what it is or what it does. I am obsessed with always having the latest shiny toy.

It's a real issue. What's that saying? Caviar dreams and root beer pockets? Whatever. I talk about this as the new iPad hits shelves today. I have a valuable lesson for all men out there. When your wife tells you something, always listen and take her advice.

It was around my birthday last November. I had received several Apple gift cards and was determined to save enough for an iPad 2. My wife has been hesitant about buying me any tech goods because they usually become obsolete almost in a blink of an eye - and then I go through the process of putting the old one on Ebay to get money to buy the next version. It happened with two of my iPad's years back and even a laptop. She warned me. "Don't buy the iPad 2. Wait! Within the next three to six months, Apple will come out with something better." She was right.

When I was told this information, I shrugged it off.  "Ah, it's gonna be the same thing with a better camera and more memory. Big deal."  How wrong I was. So I made the exciting purchase of my iPad 2 last December and sure enough, Apple releases a new iPad today with better quality and sound, more space, a better camera and faster processor.

So while hundreds line up around the country and parts of the world to be the first to buy the third generation of Apple's tablet, I am disappointed and searching auction sites to see where I can pawn mine to get a new one.

So, publicly, I would like to apologize to my wife for not listening to her. She was right. The "I TOLD YOU SO" works in this case.  Guys, listen to your wives. Although Apple will probably release the 4th iPad in 2013, having the new and better gadget is my thing.

Anyone wanna buy a used iPad 2?
