If you've driven Route 9 through Beachwood over the last many years, you've certainly passed the former Welsh Farms building right on Atlantic City Boulevard.

It's a unique looking building, with a barn-like design and almost a full wall of windows. But it's sat vacant for a long time, has become overgrown, and unfortunately is a bit of an eyesore.

But not for much longer, as a local entrepreneur prepares to bring her already successful business to Beachwood.

You've probably seen the beginnings of a makeover since the summer, with bright signs starting to fill the front windows:

Add a new sign atop the scaffolding, and the impending arrival of the new business becomes clear:

This will actually be the second location for Anytime Smoke and Vape Shop, with the first location in Point Pleasant since spring of 2017.

I gave a call over to the Route 88 mothership to ask a few questions about the upcoming Beachwood store, and ended up speaking to owner Amber Daffeldecker.

Amber grew up in Bayville and told me that she's excited to bring her business to her hometown.

She also told me that she's eager to become involved in the community and local charities, like she already is in northern Ocean County with the Point Pleasant Rotary.

You can tell when you pass by that there's still a lot of work to be done to transform the former Welsh Farms, but Amber told me that the goal right now is to start serving Route 9 customers before the holidays.

Stay tuned for more information, it'll be nice to see the old, overgrown lot become a booming business once again!
