Nor'easter

Here comes the snow! As we head into Friday, it is becoming more clear that we could see a true nor'easter impacting the area.

Weather can be very unpredictable and while it's been a while since parts of the state, especially many Shore areas, have seen a good 3-4 foot snowy blizzard, there is more than just that kind of storm to prepare for this winter in what are a lot of unknowns.

Meteorologist Dan Zarrow said the worst of the storm is behind us although there will be one more surge of rain and gusty winds on Tuesday night.

The state of emergency is not an order to close roads, businesses or schools.

Video from the stormy weather this weekend at the Jersey Shore

During the peak of the Nor'Easter hammering the Jersey Shore Wednesday night, a Toms River man was hit by a tree and downed power lines have weakened a home in Manchester.

One of the nice things about yesterday was to hear the neighborhood kids squealing with delight as they were on their sleds enjoying their snow day. The other thing I liked about the storm was how pretty everything looked. And there was a quiet peacefulness with hardly any cars on the road. I hope you managed okay with the Nor'easter.

The storm is finally over...finally, finally, finally but there is need for some caution as you head out today.

It's the biggest winter storm forecasted since the January 4 blizzard that piled at least a foot of snow across the Jersey Shore.
