A 17-year-old male became the second person charged in the Jones Road Wildfire that consumed massive amounts of Pine Barrens forest in April

A dirt bike crash in the woods triggered a series of events that led to the Jones Road Wildfire, New Jersey's largest in the past 20 years.

The fire has burned through nearly 24 sq. miles (15,250 acres) and is 60% contained as of Friday morning, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office cautioned about air quality, saying “smoke will continue to permeate the area.”

Joseph Kling, 19, of the Waretown section of Ocean Township, was charged with aggravated arson and arson.

The wildfire is already the largest wildfire in New Jersey this year at 13.2 square miles (8,500 acres) burned but only 10% contained as of Wednesday morning.
