What athletes past or present have you met and gotten their autograph? Any favorites among the bunch?

Father and Son Sports Cards and Memorabilia in the Forked River section of Lacey Township not only has some super cool items for sale at their shop but they've also organized several meet and greet autograph sessions with some of our favorite athletes from our favorite sports teams.

It's how I learned earlier this year that New York Giants G.O.A.T. Lawrence Taylor was going to be in Toms River, and he was super cool to meet in person and get his autograph on a jersey.

Many athletes and coaches past and present have come to Ocean County and the Jersey Shore and beyond, and will continue to do so in the months to come.

For some insight on the great sports personalities and athletes coming to or back to the Jersey Shore, Bruce Halliday, who owns Father and Son Sports Cards and Memorabilia joined us on 'Shore Time with Vin and Dave' on 94.3 The Point and 105.7 The Hawk on Sunday morning.

The Lawrence Taylor signing in Toms River in February was a jam packed event with a long line filled with Giants fans waiting to meet the legend.

"Lawrence Taylor was great, he was actually our best signing to date. We were so overwhelmed with the amount of people that showed up that day, we had over 1,000 people show up when we honestly only thought about 200-300 people were going to show up," Halliday tells Townsquare Media. "People ending up waiting in the general admission line for over 3-hours to meet him, and that was after 3-hours of VIP people were there, but, overall a nice, nice guy. I know a lot of people out there say some other rumors about him but he's a Class-A guy to deal with."

There have been some other great former/current athletes come to the Jersey Shore recently as well.

"John Starks/New York Knicks we did -- real nice guy, we did Rudy from Notre Dame -- he was a real nice guy to work with, recently we did Everson Walls last month -- he came in from Texas, he came into the store, was a really, really nice guy to work with," Halliday said. "We've done a lot of Rangers -- Adam Fox, Stephane Matteau, (Jacob) Trouba, (Barclay) Goodrow -- real nice, class act guys, we just got done with Luis Severino and Clay Holmes from the Yankees -- real nice guys. Most of the guys we've dealt with are really nice guys to deal with."

There's a few upcoming events where you'll be able to have a brief meet and greet session and get an autograph from some athletes who represent our favorite teams as well.

"We have John Franklin-Meyers of the New York Jets on October 10 right in Forked River right at the Pine Tar Bar & Grill -- he'll be there for a meet and greet, then we have our local guy right here in Toms River, Ron Marinaccio, of the New York Yankees on November 12, he will be at the Ocean County Mall from 12-2," Halliday said. "We just finalized a deal with (Ahmad) 'Sauce' Gardner, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall of the New York Jets -- that's going to be coming up November 1 up in Chatham. Then, on December 3, over at the RWJ-Barnabas Health Arena is a big wrestling event and we have Sgt. Slaughter coming, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and then Sting. The promoter Don Bucci just signed local guys Frankie Edgar and Todd Frazier will be there as well."

There are some other possibilities as well for athletes and coaches coming to the area.

"We're trying to get a (Artemi) Panarin deal -- we're trying to get that done, we've been talking about Bill Parcells -- I think he'd be pretty cool to do, we have some other Rangers that we're in discussion with," Halliday said. "Mike Richter and Adam Graves is upcoming, we're trying to get that done as well."
