The Ferrero Group has acquired Girl Scout Cookies, Famous Amos, Keebler and other large brands from Kellogg in a $1.3 billion deal.

Oh, heavenly Samoa, Thin Mint, and Trefoil... now there is a new delicious new cookie to add to my Girl Scout cookie diet.

Charlotte McCourt's initial goal was to sell 300 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for her troop this winter. The 11-year-old has now sold many, many more than that, thanks to her own no-holds-barred ratings that recently went viral.

This is a time of year that many eagerly anticipate. No, I'm not talking about football playoffs, I'm talking about Girl Scout Cookie season! And the century old tradition kicks off for 2017 this weekend in Ocean County.

So "the most wonderful time of the year" may be over, but another favorite time of the year is coming up in just about a week - Girl Scout Cookie season!

If you wanted to satisfy your Thin Mint fix in the past, you either had to know someone with a Girl Scout in the family, or find cookie sellers out and about town. Earlier this year, the Girl Scouts tested online sales, and it was such a success that they're expanding the program in the new year.

We've already had news of one iconic recipe change this year, with the Cadbury Creme Egg, and now news is coming out that the best selling Girl Scout Cookie recipe has been tweaked. Have you noticed?
