Applebee’s Is Letting New Jersey Students Win Big for Their Favorite Teacher
We all remember that one teacher and New Jersey teachers are the best!
The one who stayed late. The one who cared a little extra. The one who made school feel a little less stressful and a lot more inspiring.

And now, Applebee’s in Lacey Township is giving New Jersey students the chance to say thank you in a big way.
A Sweet Way for Students to Say Thank You
The Applebee’s Above & “BEE”yond Teacher Essay Contest is back for 2026, and the Lacey Applebee’s is once again helping shine a spotlight on the educators who go the extra mile every single day.
What Teachers Can Win Through This Contest
Eight incredible teachers from New Jersey will be selected to receive a $500 classroom sponsorship and an end-of-year class party at Applebee’s, thanks to patch.com. Yes, a real celebration for teachers who absolutely deserve it!
Important Dates to Remember
The contest is happening now through March 15, 2026, and students are invited to nominate a teacher who currently teaches in one of the eligible New Jersey counties.
How Students Can Enter Their Essay
Here’s how it works:
Middle and high school students are asked to write a 500-word essay explaining why their teacher should be named Applebee’s Teacher of the Year.
Elementary school students can submit a half-page essay sharing why their teacher deserves the honor.
Where Essays Must Be Submitted
There’s one important twist, essays must be hand-delivered. Students need to bring their submission in person to the General Manager or manager on duty at their local Doherty-owned Applebee’s, including my favorite Applebee's in Lacey.
Celebrating the Educators Who Go Above and “BEE”yond
Only one entry per student is allowed, and winners will be announced on April 24th, 2026.

This is such a fun, meaningful way for kids to recognize the teachers who make a real difference in their lives. It’s not just about winning a prize. It’s about gratitude, appreciation, and letting educators know they are seen and valued.
Because teachers don’t hear “thank you” nearly enough.
And if you ask me, a classroom party and a little extra support for supplies is a pretty sweet way to say it.
