Recent Toms River High School North graduate Lillian (Lilly) Fried collected her $1000 WOBM/Gateway Toyota Student of the Week scholarship at the car dealership in Toms River.  Fried was one of the 38 weekly honorees from Ocean County high schools during the 2023-24 school year and last month was randomly selected in a drawing for the annual scholarship with both WOBM and Gateway Toyota each contributing $500. Making the presentations were Kevin Williams of WOBM and Gateway Toyota GM Greg Repose.

Lilly was a two-year field hockey captain for the Mariners and also a 4-year starter on the lacrosse team.  In addition she was a member of the National Honor Society, a high honor roll student throughout high school and part of the Mariner Maniacs, Bake Club, Student Council, TEAM and a volunteer at All For One Animal Shelter.

The Toms River resident will attend Kean University in the fall where she plans on studying physical therapy while playing both field hockey and lacrosse.
