OCEAN (MONMOUTH) - A Supreme Court judge lays the hammer down on an Ocean Township man for stealing $500,000 from his uncle. Reports say 60 year old Samuel Franco was told to return the stolen money by the end of Friday or go to jail. Franco made no public apology but did acknowledge he would transfer the money back to his uncle's account by the deadline. Franco was given two-years probation.

LAKEWOOD - Members of the Lakewood PBA, along with their families and friends, took on a charity event Friday in the middle of Town Square: handing out over 1000 coats and cups of chicken noodle soup to those in need. This was the second annual giveaway organized by the local police. For their next task, the group will hold a toy drive for Christmas. Drop-off boxes are located at the station on 231 Third St.
