UPDATE: The Jackson standoff situation was resolved peacefully by Wednesday night, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer tells WOBM News.

The Ocean County SWAT Team deployed tear gas and the individual police were there for then came out of their shed and is now in custody.

"The subject in question regarding the New Central Avenue incident is in custody," Jackson Police said on Facebook. "Everyone is well, and we thank the neighbors for their understanding as we wrap up and wish everyone a safe evening!"

Several law enforcement agencies including Jackson Police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office have responded to a single residence on New Central Avenue near North Hope Chapel Road for a disturbance call that was phoned in.

As a precaution, a police presence has been added at Jackson Liberty High School Jackson Police said to ensure the safety of any students who were there for any after school activities.

If your child is still there, police said students need to be picked up via the East Veterans Highway entrance and students can be picked up at the Bus Ramp.

"Please do not be worried of units at Liberty High School as this is being used as a staging area for emergency services. Liberty was placed in a “Shelter” just as a precaution," Jackson Police said in a Facebook post.
