Police Investigate Pedestrian Death in So. Toms River

The death of a pedestrian in South Toms River is being probed by police.  The Asbury Park Press reports that a car struck a 73-year-old Toms River man walking in the shoulder near the intersection of Route 9 and Route 166 Thursday evening.  The female driver and child passenger were unharmed but where taken to Community Medical Center to be checked but there's word they were unharmed.  No charges have been filed against the driver pending an investigation.
