A Point Pleasant 21-year-old is scheduled for sentencing January 3, after admitting that he robbed the Singin gas station in the borough in March 2012.

Daniel McShane pleaded guilty to a first-degree charge of armed robbery, according to informaiton from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators say that McShane armed himself with a BB gun that strongly resembled a real firearm, cased the service station, and approached the attendant under the guise of needing help finding an item.

At that point, say authorities, McShane brandished the weapon and forced the attendant to hand over $322.

A witness called police and McShane was arrested a short time afterward. He's been incarcerated since then. Sentencing is scheduled to takes place in Ocean County Superior Court.
