Plane helps Douse Brush Fire in Lakewood

Hours after finishing a forest fire course, the Lakewood Fire Department and the State Forest Fire Service battled a brush fire along New Hampshire Avenue Sunday afternoon. 

The Lakewood Scoop reports the blaze started around 3 p.m. and spread across several acres near Locust Avenue.

A plane aided crews on the ground by dropping water. The fire was mostly contained by 4 p.m..
