The Ocean County Prosecutors Office in conjunction with the Morris County prosecutor's Office hosted an intensive six day "Top Gun" program for over 100 narcotic investigators and supporting legal staff.

This year's program began under the direction of Captain Jack Sramaty. Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp welcomed everyone to the 54th class of "Top Gun."

Knapp, who is also President of the County Prosecutors Association (CPANJ), was joined by Director of the New jersey Division of Criminal Veronica Allende, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato and Shore Congressman Tom MacArthur in delivering the opening remarks.

112 law enforcement officers and attorneys were trained by some of the top prosecutors and officers in New Jersey over the course of six days. Lectures and hands on training practices are used throughout the program.

Coronato said, "I commend my Special Operation Group Captain and President of the Statewide County Narcotics Commanders Association Jack Sramaty, OCPO Det. Casey Long, and the many other assisting instructors for their efforts in coordinating such an important narcotic enforcement training course. Top Gun plays a critical role in preparing investigating and legal staff for extensive narcotics operations. Though we have been instrumental in hosting and training over 5000 during 53 previous "Top Gun" c;asses throughout New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, it has long been my wish to bring the program to our home turf of Ocean County."
