My work schedule allows me a unique view into the seasons. I get to see the days getting longer (and yes, shorter as well) as the year goes on.

When I head out of the office around 8pm, I know that summer is approaching when it gets to the point where I still need my sunglasses on my drive home.

As I've wrapped up my work day over the last two weeks or so, the sunlight has still been shining brightly on my commute home.

As of today, June 13, 2016, we're a week away from the longest day of the year and, of course, the official start to summer.

Next Monday, June 20th, we'll have just over 15 hours of sunlight, with sunrise at 5:28am and sunset at 8:28pm.

Of course we started our "summer" here at the shore a few weeks ago with Memorial Day Weekend, but summer (the season) begins in just about a week!
