Atlantic County Prosecutors said 35-year-old Thomas Giberson of Cedar Run was charged with fourth degree theft in August 2012, after state troopers reviewed surveillance footage. The 16-year employee was seen removing the wallet from the accident scene.

The victim, Daniel Mensah of Massachusettes, was heading to Wildwood for a family vacation when he was struck from behind by another vehicle. His wallet fell from his lap onto the ground. When he went to retrieve it, he was unable to find it, according to authorities. The wallet contained $400 cash.

Giberson is facing up to six months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines when sentenced on December 6th.
