As I am writing this blog, the feels like temp in Ocean County feels like 13 degrees, and it's expected to get colder before sunrise on Tuesday morning. It's a bitter arctic blast that's passing through the Garden State. Folks are feeling it for a few days before temps improve a bit.

What is an Arctic Blast?

An “Arctic blast” is when a big pocket of very cold air from the far north rushes south and suddenly makes the weather much colder than usual. It can bring freezing winds, quick temperature drops, and sometimes snow or ice.

According to Patch, "Temperatures will return to the low-to-mid-40s for Wednesday. North Jersey will see snow, Central Jersey will see a wintry mix and there will be all rain for South Jersey, National Weather Service forecasters said."

Cold temperatures will return as we head into the weekend. Overnight lows in the 20s and some teens. Next shot at a possible wintry mix is on Sunday.

Could We See A White Christmas In New Jersey?

Looking ahead to the long-range forecast, New Jersey could see some light snow on Monday night, the 22nd of December. According to weather.com, there is a chance of accumulation of less than an inch. If we get a touch of snow, maybe it sticks around until Santa arrives a few days later? Snow lovers, do your snow dance and we will see if we have a semi-white Christmas.
