A multi-car crash in Manchester Township New Year's Eve remains under investigation but there are no reported injuries worse than a broken hand by one of the victims.

Police say a New Lisbon teen lost control of his car on Route 70 near mile-marker 36 while trying to pass up other drivers on the road just before 9 pm in the township's Whiting section.

The New Lisbon 17-year old driver was heading west on Route 70 in a 2001 Kia Sportage when his dangerous venture resulted in him striking a 2005 Infiniti Q56 SUV, spun around and hit a 2006 Mazda 616.

It all happened when the teen saw traffic coming and when he tried to get back into his own lane from the one going eastbound, the accident occurred when he lost control of the car.

No charges have been filed though appear likely.

The driver of the Infiniti, David Dempsey, 36, of Atco and his passenger weren't injured in the crash nor was the 17-year old driver of the Kia Sportage.

The 17-year old Pemberton Township driver of the Mazda was brought to Lourdes Hospital in Browns Mills for treatment of a broken hand.

All three cars had extensive front-end damage and the air bags were deployed.

Route 70 was closed down in both directions for about three hours between County Route 539 and County Route 530 in Pemberton Township while the crash was investigated and the scene cleared.

This accident remains under investigation by Patrolman Marc Micciulla of the department's Patrol Bureau and that's who anyone with information is asked to contact  at (732) 657-6111 extension 6384.
