"Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill Tuesday that names the Seeing Eye as the official state dog of New Jersey. The state dog helps sightless people lead full, independent and mobile lives in their communities across North America" ~ Northjersey.com

New Jersey has a new "State Dog" but it is not a certain breed nor is it a pure-bred or mixed breed. The Garden State dog is not small or large...male or female and why? because the new "State Dog" is the "Seeing Eye Dog"

Governor Murphy signed a measure this week making the service dog for the blind and visually impaired our "State Dog".

According to northjersey.com  12 states have designated state dogs, but New Jersey is the first to designate the guide dogs as a state animal.
