A new analysis of FBI burglary data has revealed that New Jersey has already recorded 5,183 burglaries in the first five months of 2026, with reports currently sitting just 20% behind the state’s full 2025 total.

The study, done by Compare the Market, compared the latest available burglary figures against 2025 data to identify where reports have increased the most across the U.S.

According to their report, here are some key points for burglary in New Jersey:

• Growth since 2025: -20%
