There was mixed news this week from the popular cosmetics chain Ulta Beauty.

The company announced that while they still plan to open 30 new stores, over a dozen will be closing permanently, with both sides of that impacting New Jersey.

Ulta Beauty released a statement earlier this week to update the public on the company's direction following the COVID-19 coronavirus shut downs.

On the good news side of things, they say that around half of the employees who were furloughed have been reactivated and that following the unexpected work stoppages, they plan to get back to opening new stores.

According to NJ.com, one of the new Ulta Beauty stores that's still on track to open soon is the newly built location outside of the Ocean County Mall in Toms River, as well as 4 more new stores in North Jersey.

On the negative side though, Ulta said that they'll be permanently closing 19 stores before the end of the year.

While Ulta didn't officially release the list of stores that will be closing for good, the same NJ.com article reports that a company spokesperson told them that Ulta Beauty's Vineland, NJ location will be among those that will be closing.

The official statement from Ulta said that, "the Company intends to reassign affected store and salon associates where possible".
