Artemio Gayton, 43, was arrested during a traffic stop on March 1, culminating a week-long investigation, state police said. NJSPD collaborated with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office in the probe.

Police said that investigators of the NJSPD Trafficking South Unit established that Gayton was dealing in the township, prior to the roadside pullover. A search of his house yielded 10 kilograms of heroin, authorities said.

Gayton is charged with possession, and possession with intent to distribute. He was released to await court proceedings. The New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice is handling prosecution.

Police did not indicate whether Gayton retained an attorney.

Charges are accusations.Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
