Matawan, Monmouth County, New Jersey Police looking for hit-and-run driver
Matawan Police and the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office are hoping you can help them identify and find the driver behind a hit-and-run accident that left a 77-year old woman in critical condition, Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni announced Wednesday.
Matawan Police responded Tuesday evening around 6:57 pm to a report of a body in the shoulder of the roadway in front of the Mediterranean Chateau located at 27 Freneau Avenue.
The victim was treated at the scene by Matawan First Aid and MONOC, then transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where she remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Analysis Response Team responded to the scene as well and is continuing its investigation into the crash.
