This morning, I was watching a movie on HBO when a message suddenly popped up that the channel isn't available. I've had that happen in the past when a promotion has expired and I have to call and re-add the channel to my package, but it was strange for it to happen in the middle of the morning, rather than overnight. But, it turns out that I'm not the only one having an issue - by far.

Comcast has issued the following statement on the outage:

"we’re continuing to investigate what appears to be a temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services (Monday) morning.  Our engineers have been working on this and services are starting to be restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers."

And, if you take a look at this map, you can see that the outage is widespread, but of course the largest portion is centered right on us.
