A man who was found unresponsive on the F-Beach on Sandy Hook this afternoon around 2:37 pm has died from injuries currently unknown.

Middletown Police along with Federal Park Rangers responded to the beach for a report of a man down.

Park Rangers arrived and found an adult male lying on the sand near the water’s edge in an unresponsive condition.

The identity of the subject is not being released at this time, pending notification to family.

Personnel from the Middlesex County Medical Examiner responded to the scene and this investigation is ongoing.

It's not known there were any marks on the body such as bites from animals or if the victim drowned and floated to shore.

Middletown Police say that the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.
