The Brick Planning Board has been busy in December. Just yesterday we told you about the new Wawa that was just approved for a space on Route 70 across from Target, and this week they approved a sweeping group of changes that will be coming to Brick Plaza.

Patch reports that the work that has been going on in earnest for the better part of two years at the township's biggest shopping center will ramp up more as a number of new tenants prepare to to move in, and cosmetic changes also get the go-ahead.

Among the new stores that will either be opening soon or have at least been approved are:

  • LA Fitness in the former Sports Authority space
  • Michael's crafts and Home Goods in the former A&P location
  • Two restaurants taking over the old Joe's Crab Shack building

Of course this is all in addition to the Chipotle, Ulta Beauty, and DSW Shoe Warehouse that have all opened in the last year and a half.

You can read Patch's full coverage, including the details on the proposed, "boardwalk-like setting" by clicking here. Let us know in the comments section what other stores you'd like to see come to Brick and Ocean County!
