Wawa Will Be Coming To One Of The Busiest Parts Of Brick
It's only been about 2 months since QuickChek opened their first Brick location on Route 70 at Brick Boulevard. But now, just a mile and a half down the highway, they'll soon have new competition from Wawa at one of the busiest crossroads in the county.
Plans to build a Wawa on Route 70 just past Duquesne Boulevard in Brick has been a hotly contested topic in the Lake Riviera neighborhood in particular, but the Asbury Park Press reports that late last week the Board of Adjustments approved the plans.
It'll add another retail giant to an area that includes Target, Houlihan's, Petco, Costco, and more just east of the Parkway interchange.
Of course this is just the first step in a process that could take some time before we start to see the building going up, but it'll add a new gas and convenience store option to the stretch of highway that is one of the busiest shopping areas in all of Ocean County. What do you think about this upcoming Wawa location? Are you glad to see it coming to Route 70 in Brick, or do you think it'll add too much more traffic to an already congested area?
