Two years ago, our very own Lisa Leonard wrote about an Ocean County teen who took her ice cream sandwich business from a tent in downtown Toms River to an ice cream trailer, a truck, and a cart.

And now, three years later, Lexylicious is getting ready to open their first brick and mortar ice cream sandwich shop!

It all started when Toms River native Alexa Hesse started making ice cream sandwiches coated in cereal like Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and more at just 17-years-old.

The sandwiches were such a hit at downtown festivals that business boomed and food trucks followed.

In the short 3 years since Lexy was slinging ice cream sandwiches from a table, Lexylicious is getting ready to cut the ribbon on a Point Pleasant Beach treat shop.

We hear that the middle to end of June is the target to start serving up Lexylicious ice cream sandwiches at the Bay Avenue shop, but as with any new business opening, that can of course change. You can bet we'll keep an eye on it and keep you in the loop!
