Lakewood Police Identify and Seek Strongarm Robbery Suspect
A North Carolina man suspected of robbing a victim of his wristwatch in Lakewood last month remains outside the law, and police are reaching out for information to track him down.
The alleged victim is an 18-year-old man from Los Angeles, California. Authorities say Jocqui Brown, 19, accosted him near the railroad tracks at Cedarbridge and Hurley Avenues at about 10:30 PM on September 13, threatening to kill him if he didn't hand over his watch. No weapon was shown, police said.
The description was of a black male, about 5'11" tall and weighing between 250 and 300 pounds.
Detective Jason Pederson recovered the timepiece in a jewelry store and developed information leading to the identification of Brown.
Jocqui Brown is sought for robbery and theft charges. Police can be reached at 732-363-0200.
