Lakehurst man found with heroin at traffic stop
A Lakehurst man found the trouble was beginning to pile up after police allegedly found him in possession of heroin in his vehicle.
An officer spotted 35-year old Christopher J. Mahieu driving along and pulled him over knowing he had an active Ocean County Superior Court warrant out for his arrest.
The strength of the warrant was enough to arrest Mahieu but while the officer was conducting an on scene investigation he found 24 wax folds containing Heroin and other drug paraphernalia in the car.
Mahieu was transported to Lakehurst Police Department for processing and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was also issued one motor vehicle summons for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle.
Mahieu was issued a summons for the charges and transported to the Ocean County Jail where he was lodged on the strength of the active warrant.
The public is reminded that all criminal charges are merely accusations and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
