My New Jersey Pet Peeve of the Week concerns the lack of personal space many New Jersey residents give us.

New Jersey Residents Closing The Gap On Personal Space

As I go about my day-to-day activities, it is becoming clearer to me that the only personal space some New Jersey residents are concerned about is their own.

It all started with my visit to my local Walmart. I was looking to pick up a few things, and as I was shopping, the crowd began to grow.

What happened to the days when you would wait until the person in front of you was done if you were both interested in an item close to each other on the shelf?

That is apparently not a thing anymore since a woman literally put her chin over my shoulder, close enough to feel her breath on me, to look at her item.

But it didn't stop there. Once I decided on my items, I had the great pleasure of waiting in line, with the person behind me tailgating so bad, his cart was hitting my butt. Where do you think you're going?

And if you think my lack of personal space journey ended there, it didn't. I made it out to the car, only to find someone parked so close to my driver's side door that I had to get in through the passenger door.

Do New Jersey Residents Miss Social Distancing?

There is very little I miss about the COVID days, but I find myself yearning for a touch of social distancing.
