As New Jersey gets closer to legalizing adult use marijuana, the question of what to do about previous offenders has come up. In a recent nj.com story, a bill that, in addition to legalizing marijuana, would also allow residents to clear convictions for distributing up to one ounce of marijuana and possessing up to five pounds of weed.

This issue has become a hot button topic here in New Jersey and we want to get your input.

The State Legislature is expected to vote on the legalization bill this Monday, and Governor Murphy and top lawmakers in Trenton are pushing hard behind the scenes to secure the votes to pass legal weed. The Governor said this week that, should the bill pass, he would continue working to make sure expungements have a positive impact on residents here in the Garden State.

Expungements and other social justice provisions have been key to Governor Murphy’s proposal on legalization of adult use marijuana.
