Howell Police release sketch of Tuesday armed robbery suspect
Howell Police have released a sketch of the man wanted for an armed robbery he's accused of committing around 11:37 am on Tuesday.
The suspect walked into "The Check Cashing Station" at 5995 Route 9 and lured an employee of his office by giving him a bogus story.
He then showed him a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the employee let him into a nearby locked office.
The employee was then forced into the bathroom while the suspect looted a healthy sum of cash then fled within minutes of the intrusion by hopping into a white 2004-2007 Ford Econoline van north onto Route 9.
After he did the employee called 9-1-1.
Howell Police Tuesday released a photo of a white Ford F250 pickup truck as a possible suspect vehicle.
Although this vehicle was not the suspect vehicle, the operator of the vehicle is being sought as a potential witness.
Police say no shots were fired, no assault took place and no one was injured in the robbery.
Police have given a description of the suspect:
- A white male wearing sunglasses and a multi-colored bandanna around his neck
- Likely in his 40's-50's
- Approximately 5'6
- Medium build
- Short gray hair
- Scruffy beard
- Wearing a hooded sweatshirt/jacket
The matter is under investigation by the Howell Police Department Investigations Division.
