We know a little more about a bicyclist struck by a car on White Street on the east side of Route 9 between Conover Street and Georgia Tavern Road in Howell Tuesday night May 1 around 6:00 pm.

A 2011 Nissan Altima driven by a 17-year old was heading west on White Street when it collided with the 19-year old who popped out of a wooded area north of the roadway and entered in front of the car causing impact.

The bicyclist was medevacked to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and remains in critical condition from serious, life-threatening injuries.

Both the driver and their 13-year old passenger were unharmed in the accident and stayed on the scene following the collision and called 9-1-1.

Howell Police say they are cooperating with the investigation.

No charges or tickets have been filed.

The investigation is being conducted by Patrolman Matthew Cherney #629 of the Howell Police Department Traffic Safety Division and Agent Reggie Grant of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

The Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) responded to assist with the investigation. In addition to MONOC, Howell Police EMS, Howell First Aid and the Freewood Acres Fire Department responded to assist.
