HIGHLIGHTS: Day 1 Of Shawn & Sue’s Making Miracles Radiothon

Day 1 of Shawn & Sue's Making Miracles Radiothon is in the books, and what a day it was. Let's take a look at some of our favorite moments:

POWER PLAY

OceanFirst Bank really got the ball rolling with their 2:1 matching donations during the 9 a.m. hour. The double-donations really set the pace for the rest of the day.

JOE VOLFMAN

What an inspirational young man. If you missed his interview, do yourself a favor and listen to one of the most hard-working, motivated individuals you will ever meet:

CHICK-FIL-A

While we were busy in the studio, Justin Louis and the Hometown Crew were on the road collecting donations at Chick-fil-A in Howell & at the Freehold Raceway Mall.

LEXYLICIOUS

Lexylicious ice cream stopped by to drop off a $750 donation AND a $500 challenge.

THE FAMILIES

We had so many children and their families in our studio, all of whom had unique stories and challenges to share. Their stories continue to inspire us and place perspective on how important Children's Specialized Hosptial is.

THE DONATIONS

This was truly our most important moment of Day 1, as we raised an incredible amount of money for local children with special medical needs. While we're saving the tallies until the very end, let's just say that we're going to make a big difference in the lives of our local children this year. Stay tuned until tomorrow evening for our final tally!

After a fantastic Day 1, we can't wait to see what Day 2 has in store for us.
