Heavy Armed Police Activity At Standoff In South Toms River
UPDATE - 6:50pm
According to Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronardy, early Thursday evening a suspect fled a motor vehicle stop and barricaded himself in his South Toms River home on Hummel Drive.
Sheriff Mastronardy tells WOBM News that South Toms River police have deemed the scene to be under control and are currently conducting a weapons search.

In the last hour, multiple reports are indicating that a possible standoff situation has been unfolding in South Toms River.
The Asbury Park Press is reporting that police, including Ocean County Sheriff units, have closed off a number of streets surrounding Hummel Drive as they attempt to negotiate with a man who has allegedly barricaded himself in his home.
