The newest agreement with Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River, effective fall 2017, follows recent partnerships with Trenton Catholic, Holy Cross in Delran, Holy Spirit in Absecon and St. Joseph in Hammonton, according to Justin Roy, GCU dean of admissions.

GCU currently is in talks to add more, he said.

The agreements are an extension of GCU's Catholic Schools Initiative, launched in late 2015. Partners have access to specific scholarships and dedicated GCU admissions contacts to every Catholic High School in the Trenton, Metuchen, and Camden Dioceses. Students at designated schools also are offered college-level classes.

GCU has had an admissions program with Brookdale Community College in Monmouth County for a few years, and has now teamed up with Mercer County Community College, according to Roy.

"It's an opportunity for students who are attending community college who want to transfer to a four-year institution, especially Georgian Court, early access to both the admissions and the financial aid counselors." Roy said. He added the partnership also allows the advisers at Mercer County Community College to help and work with their students, to make sure they're on the right track from day one, and to make sure "they're taking the right credits that are all going to transfer in."

Roy also said the partnerships go beyond traditional enrollment programs and help GCU "to understand what today's high school freshman is going to need in four years, and how we can react today, so that those services are in place for them tomorrow."
