A Freehold man is heading to prison for 5-years after pleading guilty to his role in distributing child sexual abused materials, announced Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey on Wednesday.

John V. Catalano, 36, of Nottingham Way in Freehold, specifically, pleaded guilty to second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Materials.

The prison sentence of 5-years comes under the terms of a plea agreement, which will also include 2-1/2 years mandatory parole ineligibility, and mandatory Megan’s Law registration.

Catalano distributed more than 25 images of child porn and was charged and indicted in September of 2019 with one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for possession of child pornography.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13, 2022

The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie Dugan.
