Four More Ocean County Pizzerias Accept The Pizza Challenge & Will Donate Food
It was only hours ago that we told you about the campaign that Forked River's Conca D'Oro Pizzeria kicked off with the "Pizza Challenge".
In the hours since, at least 4 more Ocean County pizzerias have accepted the challenge.
On Thursday, Conca D'oro said that this weekend, they'll be making 200 pizzas available for those in need during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
They followed up the offer by challenging other local pizza restaurants to follow suit and donate what they're able.
The response has been inspiring.
Since yesterday:
- La Fontana in Brick committed to donating dozens of pizzas to healthcare workers in Brick and Toms River.
- Tony's Pasta House in Toms River is delivering food to local police and hospitals.
- Via Napoli in Lanoka Harbor will drop pizzas off for hospital workers and will make pies available to families in need at no cost.
- Mimmo's Pizza, Pasta, and Subs in Forked River will donate pizzas every week for the next month to healthcare workers in southern Ocean County.
They're all amazing examples of how our communities are coming together during these difficult times.
