Flipped Truck Shuts Down Route 70 in Lakehurst

A truck that toppled onto its side on Route 70 in Lakehurst early this afternoon keeps a stretch of the highway closed between the circles that link it to surrounding Manchester and Toms River.

Information from the Ocean County Sheriff's Facebook page is sketchy but says that traffic detours stay in place until further notice.

Reports of the crash near Lake Street surfaced at about 12:15 PM, indicating a fuel leak from the rig that prompted evacuations in the surrounding area.

The crash site is west of the Route 37 split.
