Fines Accumulate for Beachwood Mall Owner

$40-thousand dollar fines accumulate daily against the owner of the dilapidated fenced-in Beachwood Shopping Center in Berkeley Township. Fire officials levied the fines soon after the Superstorm after one of the vacant stores was badly damaged by fire.

According to Patch.com, mall owner Patricia Oughton or her attorney is scheduled to appear before the Ocean County Board of Construction Appeals on June 20th about the violations.

The mall is the lynchpin in the township's redevelopment plans and a developer has expressed interest.
